Los Premios Globo de Oro (Golden Globe Awards) son galardones concedidos por los 93 miembros de la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood (HFPA; por sus siglas en inglés) en reconocimiento a la excelencia de profesionales en cine y televisión, tanto en Estados Unidos como a nivel mundial.
Los Globos de Oro se conoce también como la antesala de Los Oscars aunque tiene un funcionamiento y categorías diferentes a Los Oscars. En Los Globos de Oro se premia tanto al cine como a la televisión, y dentro de cada apartado las películas o series se dividen en 2 categorías: drama y comedia y/o musical. Por lo que en realidad las premiadas son 2 películas y series por categoría, una en drama y otra en comedia y/o musical.
Este año a tenido lugar la 72º ceremonia en los estudios de hotel Beverly Hilton en Beverly Hills, sede de la ceremonia desde 1961.
